Farthing Hills

FeaturesVision and Views

For many years, the property that is now Farthing Hills has been neglected and used by deer and turkey hunters, partygoers and even dumpers of trash. We spent the first few months cleaning up the property, building four-wheeler trails, putting up fences and removing deer stands. Then, while standing at the top of the hill with literally no view because of the dense trees, I had a vision that a great view of Tulsa would be possible with some clearing. We started taking down trees and the great views became more and more real.

I finally decided that I wanted to make this my Tulsa home. Since my son’s off to college and it’s just me and my dog, Jenson, I decided to build something small while concentrating on the infrastructure and landscaping. Now, I’m very pleased that I made that decision. While in Tulsa, I enjoy the spectacular 360-degree views from the top of the hill and exploring the property on four-wheelers with my caretaker, Clay Edwards.

Contractor Team Accomplishments

I’m very grateful for all of the contractors that have worked to beautify this land. Clay and his crew has spent hundreds of hours clearing the land, keeping it mowed, enforcing security and building the trails. What’s been amazing is the unlimited supply of landscape rocks all over the property. We had to build a road, water line and buried electric 2,500 feet up the hill. Mike Oakley with Aaron fence put up a chain link fence with a double swinging steel gate for additional security. Advance Alarms has added video surveillance and security systems on the structures. Jef Falling with Stava Building has handled the construction of the home and the shop. Rick Chambers built the roads, Ron Culver built the ponds and the Phonograph handled all of the audio visual installation. BlueView developed the website and logo, Oliver’s Twist does the catering and Ross Byrd painted the signage posted all over Farthing Hills.
